Throughout history the Flag has been a symbol of liberty and the sacrifice of Americans who have paid the ultimate price so that we may live freely. The Flag has been flown over the Phoenix Academy, Camp Taji, Iraq on 2 April 2009 In Honor of Jack D. Mc Hugh of
Semper Fi Jack Care Pakages. Our school is dedicated to preparing Americans and Iraqis in a combined effort to fight the forces that would do us harm. The Flag has been flown over the intellectual bastion in the most complex war of our time, so it is with great pride that we present it as a token of our appriciation of your contribution and support for our cause of supporting freedom.

Date : 14 February 2008 : From : Engineer Company Combat Logistics Battalion 8, Iraq
I hope this note finds you with peace and in good health. Engineer Company is winding down to the end of another deployment. Many of us have served multiple tours here in Iraq. It's exciting to know we're just around the corner from reuniting with our families.
The Marine Corps is a close-knit organization forged in the fires of Parris Island and San Diego. It is this kindred spirit that creates our "Brand of Brothers" and mottos like; Marines take care of their own.'
But, I would submit to you that the Marine Corps is also a social organization that relies on interaction with its local populace. We serve our great nation in her endeavors for world freedom and national interests . You are the nation. The individule American regardless of race, color, sex or creed is the strength of our nation and is ultimately whom we serve.
Great American Patriots like you that transend politics and opinions who choose to support our nation's troops are to be commended.
On behalf of Engineer Company's Marines and Navy Corpman-and with great pride and gratitude-I thank you for your selfless support. Your support has been a key element of our tremendous success. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
God bless the United States and success to the Marines! Very Gratefully

Date: 22 February 2008 : Marine Air Control Group 38, 3d Marine Aircraft Wing (FWD), Al Asad Airbase, IRAQ
Mr. Mc Hugh, I am writing to extend to you the sincere appriciation of the Marines, Sailors, and families of Marine Air Control Group 38 for your support. It is heartening for the members of this unit and their families to know that their many sacrifices are appriciated and that patriotic Americans such as you support them.
Having just recently deployed to Al Asad Airbase, Iraq, my Marines and Sailors are adjusting to their deployed lifestyle away from home and family and, for some, in new environment. Even those Marines and Sailors who have deployed to Iraq multiple times before, the initial weeks of the deployment are tough as we MACG-38 welcome your snacks, CD's and DVDs as a show of support at this critical time.
I have charged all the Marines and Sailors of Control Group with three priorities: accomplish the mission; take care of each other; and represent our unit, Corps, and country honorably. With the support of fine Americans such as you, their job in realizing these priorities is made that much easier. Thank you, again, for your support.
Semper Fidelis
